Buffalo Rugby Club D2 and D3 Advance to EGU Semis

On a windy and muddy Saturday in Delaware Park, both BRC sides won EGU quarterfinal games.

In the D3 game, BRC took on a fired up Kenton Misfits team. Playing with the wind in the first half, BRC kept the ball in KenTon's end. After sustained pressure, Anthony Gray scored a try to give BRC a 5-0 lead. Peter Klopp and Aaron Wright each had a try in the first half. Collin DeGuerhery converted one of those tries and BRC had 17-0 lead at the half. In the second half, KenTon scored first to make it 17-5, BRC. However, BRC struck back as Josh Bennett scored a try that DeGuehery converted, 24-5 BRC. KenTon scored a late try but could catch BRC leaving the final score at 24-10.

In the D2 game, BRC faced a Montclair (NJ) team that had finished second in their group. Montclair used big runners trying to pound through BRC's defense. However, they were unsuccessful and Grant Currey notched the first try of the game, 5-0 BRC. Shortly before the half, BRC scored a second try as Mike Lang sped around the corner to touch down. Luca Wrabetz bagged the difficult conversion and BRC had 12-0 half time lead.
