Saturday November 1, at Soldiers Field in Chicago, the daughters of two Buffalo Rugby Club members took the field for the USA Rugby Eagles against the world champion New Zealand Ferns.
Emily Henrich, daughter of Lisa and Chris Henrich, at the age of 18 may be the youngest woman to take the field for the womens Eagles. She played outside center. Emily previously won Player of the Match honors for her heroics against Canada at the U20 Tri-Nations Cup. She started her playing career with Orchard Park girls and Niagara Wasps Women. She currently is playing for Dartmouth College
Catherine Benson, daughter of Mike Benson, started playing rugby when she started college at Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, she helped lead her team to five National Championships. She quickly showcased her talent for the sport and was named a Collegiate All-American (15s) in 2014 and 2015.She is currently in graduate school at Life West University where she has assisted her team to three National Championships
She completed in the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup in Ireland
Both will travel to play England in England next Friday.
