Each spring, coaches of RugbyNY high school teams are invited to nominate a candidate from their team. The coach should make their nomination based primarily on the intangible personal attributes set out in the program description.

Upon receipt of the nomination from the coach, the Buffalo Rugby Club will contact the candidate to invite them to complete an application. A committee of RugbyNY members will review the applications and pick a scholarship winner, primarily on the basis of the coach’s nomination, then additionally, academic record, school and community activities, honors, work experience, the exceptional circumstances.

This scholarship program is administered by the Buffalo Rugby Club, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
