Frank’s bench is now in place at the Old Caldeians Rugby Club. It was delivered in lovely sunshine and put in place outside the Club House overlooking the River Dee and North Wales in the distance.
From Frank's sister Jennifa, "Following Frank’s sudden death our family wanted to have an appropriate memorial to him and it seemed right that it should be connected to Caldy Rugby Club. And so we arranged to have a Memorial Bench made in his memory with an appropriate plaque on it.
Roger Flashman has been helping me to organise it along with my brother Ian. Roger and some of his friends, who were working on the pitches today, helped to carry it from the van and place it. Roger is an Old Caldeian, went to school with Frank and played with him. Franks brother Ian was abroad at the time and, as I live a long way from Caldy now, Roger was kind enough to accept delivery of the bench and take photos so that I could forward them to Frank’s wife and his sons. ”
Jennifa recalls, "Frank had very strong family ties with Caldy. This is also why we chose to place the bench there. His father, brother, my husband and both his brothers also played there. It was the place we chose for the whole family to gather before Christmas to remember Frank’s life. It was a place that felt like second home to all of us!"
