Going into their third league match of the fall, The Buffalo Rugby Club's D3 side knew they would have a tougher time than in their previous two matches. The Ken-Ton MisFits were also undefeated with two solid wins to their credit. For nearly 20 minutes the teams battled without a score. Finally, BRC notched a penalty kick and a converted try to gain a 10-0 lead. However, at the 30 minutes mark, Ken-Ton scored the first points against the D3 side this season with a converted try making the score 10-7 Buffalo. BRC score a try late in the half to regain their 10 point lead, leaving the score 17-7 at the half. The half time message was don't panic, stay with the game plan, and increase the defensive pressure. In the next 20 minutes, the BRC side reeled off 19 points on 3 tries and 2 conversions to take the score to 36-7 for the win. The combination of faith in the system, injection of 8 subs with fresh legs, and teamwork made sure the D3 side gained a bonus point win to remain at the top of the league table. Next weekend the D3 side has a rematch with Tri-County/Lockport in Lockport and the D2 side resumes its fall league schedule traveling to Detroit to face the powerful Detroit Tradesmen.
