On Saturday, February 20, the Buffalo Rugby Club hosted our 15th annual 7s in the Snow Tournament.  The tournament began in Delaware Park with 4-6 local teams.  It has grow to over 35 teams, from NY, Pennsylvania and Canada.  This year there were over 400 participants playing rugby on 5 fields.  The teams included men's, women's and college teams.

7 players a side rugby is a shorter, more wide open format that is used for the tournament as well as in the next summer olympics.  Instead of the normal 15 players on each team, the 7 a side format leads to more scoring which is more exciting for the fans as well as the participants.

In the Men's A Division, University at Buffalo and Fredonia were victorious. The Men's B Division showcased the Buffalo State Alumni and St. John Fisher Alumni picking up hardware. In the Women's A division, Fredonia and the Buffalo Old Girls were victorious. In the Women's B division, the North Buffalo Ninjas and Geneseo B-side collected trophies.
